The Midland Hill Climb Championship takes place each summer, and its 10 rounds are split between Prescott Speed Hill Climb, Loton Park, Shelsley Walsh and Gurston Down. It’s a fierce competition, with cars from many different marques taking part, culminating in a celebratory dinner and awards ceremony after the motorsport season has finished.

Around 148 guests will attend the dinner at Chateau Impney this weekend, with over 90 awards to be presented. Mike Turpin, who competed in a Vauxhall VX220 and was 2014’s winner, will receive the BMTR Midland Hill Climb Champion award.
However, Alex Summers, who competed in a Gould GR61X and OMS 25, was the fastest driver throughout the competition and will be awarded the TTC Top Ten Challenge Award.
The Midland Hill Climb team will also honour their marshals, many of which took part in the inaugural Hill Climb, with a special lunch on the Sunday and a series of awards. Each competition entry gives a small contribution towards the lunch and prizes to say thank you for all the marshals’ efforts throughout the year, and it’s a great way to celebrate the end of the championship.
The marshals will also be joined by a number of special guests, including Mike, the Midland Hill Climb champion for this year, and Allan Dean-Lewis MBE from the MSA.
We look forward to welcoming everyone celebrating at Chateau Impney and we hope they have a fantastic weekend. To find out more about hosting your club or championship’s annual dinner at Chateau Impney, call 01905 77 44 11.
