Keep up to date with all the latest Chateau Impney Hill Climb news.
Although the Hill Climb will be largely accessible for all, there are some areas of the event that provide limited access. This is unavoidable by the very nature of the event, which covers 140 acres over undulating grassland. So we can make your visit as enjoyable as possible, please inform the Hill Climb team of any mobility issues so that we can provide assistance and advice. You can call the Hill Climb team on 0845 017 0637, or alternatively, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note it is advised that any visitors with mobility restrictions should access the event by car, rather than use the pedestrian entrance, which has limited disabled access.
The visitors’ car park will offer a designated disabled parking area immediately adjacent to the car park exits and event entrances. There will also be a disabled drop-off area with plastic hardstanding for the unloading of wheelchairs or other mobility devices from visitor cars.
Each disabled Blue Badge holder may bring one helper with them free of charge. If you require any further information about ticketing for disabled guests, please contact the Hill Climb team by calling 0845 017 0637.
We will be providing a shuttle service from the visitors’ car park to the competitors’ paddock by way of motorised buggy. These buggies offer a full access platform for mobility scooters and wheelchairs and will run throughout both event days.
You can hire a mobility scooter for the Hill Climb using our Mobility Scooter Booking Form, provided that you agree to the terms and conditions. They are available for £40 per day or £75 for the weekend. Please note you will not be able to hire mobility scooters on event days – they must be booked by no later than Friday 1 July 2016.
There will be a designated disabled spectator viewing area at the edge of the paddock on tarmac hardstanding.
The Chateau Impney Hill Climb event is spread out through a variety of areas with differing accessibility, including undulating grassland with some steep inclines, flat tarmacked areas, steeper sloping tarmacked areas, and indoor spaces with full disabled access. It is highly recommended that anyone with limited mobility who will find slopes a challenge should make provisions for motorised assistance.
Chateau Impney Hotel
The Chateau Impney Hotel will host our Corporate and VIP Hospitality guests throughout the Hill Climb weekend. The Chateau offers full accessibility for guests who use wheelchairs or other mobility apparatus, such as motorised scooters.
Access to the public VIP areas, which will be housed in the lobby, Grand Bar and Grand Ballroom of the hotel, is via a bespoke wheelchair ramp at the front steps of the building. Once inside, VIP and Corporate Hospitality guests can use a number of lifts that provide access to all areas of the building.
The ornamental gardens of the hotel, which are also open to VIP and Corporate Hospitality guests, offer walkways, which are largely covered in gravel and may provide accessibility limitations for wheelchair users.
Members of the Hill Climb team will be on hand to assist any competitors staying in Impney Court who have limited mobility or accessibility issues. Impney Court is equipped with a ramp into the main building and has a limited amount of dedicated disabled accommodation.
Impney Apartments provide a great alternative to traditional hotel accommodation, but none of our apartments are specifically designated as disabled-friendly facilities. Access to the apartments on the ground floor is suitable for wheelchair users, but there is no lift available for access to accommodations on the first floor. Please note that the Impney Apartments can only be booked by competitors during the Hill Climb weekend.
