Event Atmosphere Was Great Said Wasp Driver

Sunday 19 July 2015

The atmosphere at Chateau Impney Hill Climb made it a really special event, according to Winston Teague, who had to fight hard to triumph in Class 6.

Winston recorded the fastest time in the Pre-1940 Racing Cars Over 1100cc and up to 1500cc class in the speedy GN Wasp, completing the course in 49.96 seconds. But the win was far from a foregone conclusion.

Winston said: “I was over the moon to win. I went to the event hoping to have a good go at it. I was behind at various times during the weekend. At one point Rebecca Gunn was leading, which kept us all on our toes!”

While Sunday’s rain made the course difficult for some, Winston enjoyed it.

He said: “The course was very exciting, especially in the wet. It was technical and challenging, but ultimately it was really good fun. It’s nice to do something completely new and for everyone to be starting from the same learning point.

“The whole atmosphere of the weekend was great, he concluded.”
