Tony Griffiths Shares Stories from Original Speed Trials

Wednesday 13 April 2016

We invited Chateau Impney speed trial record-holder Tony Griffiths to the inaugural Chateau Impney Hill Climb, where he shared some fantastic stories from his racing years.

During the Hill Climb weekend, Rob Hall competed in a BRM P48 Mk I – the same type of car that Tony Griffiths drove to set the speed trial record of 22.07 seconds. Tony’s record can never be beaten, but Rob was determined to try and set a new one on the extended course, and landed in the overall top ten for the day.

However, when Rob’s BRM wasn’t on the hill climb course, we couldn’t resist taking Tony over to see it and chatted to him about the BRM he competed in at Chateau Impney.

Click on the video player below to find out more about Tony’s BRM, which was previously campaigned by Formula 1 superstar Graham Hill.
