The Skirrow was built by a speedway rider who lost his hand, so he built himself a little car. It was so successful that everyone wanted one and he ended up building 50 of them. The Skirrow was four-wheel drive and actually inspired the development of the Jeep in the USA.
Ivan Dutton’s company restores Bugattis and he has a number of racing cars, but the hill climb was the first time he had even driven the Skirrow on tarmac! He usually just drives it on his farm around the fields.
Ivan said: "I decided to bring the Skirrow to the hill climb because nobody would even have seen one since the 1950s.”
