Rod Spollon returned to racing at the 2017 Chateau Impney Hill Climb, with two entries. The BRM P48 was victorious, which he entered in the Pre-1961 Racing Cars over 1500cc Class. There were issues for the BRM on the Sunday morning, meaning that he was unable to run, but managed to come back fighting in the afternoon and fly straight to the top. Guy Spollon, Rod’s father, also entered Class 14, in the Connaught A Type, providing family rivalry within the same class, with Rod securing a time over three seconds quicker than Guy.
