Riley ERA is a Sprinter's Dream

Saturday 9 July 2016

David Hawkins is a late entry at the hill climb, in his Riley ERA, which has the White Riley engine and was the prototype for later models.

It’s David’s first time at the Chateau, although he has raced all over England for 40 years. He said: “I’m won’t be going very fast. The car is very capable, but I’m not! I’m really looking forward to it though, we’re going to have fun!”

The Riley held pre-war sprint records at Brighton for the standing 1/4 mile, the standing 1/2 mile and the standing kilometre. It also holds the lap record for the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone.

So we expect to see good things from the Riley today!
