Richard, who won the Production Saloon Cars from 1950 to 1967 class in a Morris Mini Cooper S, was shocked to leave the event victorious:
“I was very surprised to win the class. I was up against a proper hill climb driver in a hill climb car and mine is a circuit racing car. The more I drove the course, the more I liked it!”
Richard, who won the class by just a quarter of a second, in a time of 47.95 seconds, was full of praise for the event. He said: “So many people were saying it was better than other events. The hospitality was brilliant and the paddock and marshalling worked well and I thought the campsite was brilliant. The attention to detail over the weekend was superb.”
