Porsche Club Great Britain is the UK’s only officially approved Porsche club and has been run by dedicated and friendly Porsche enthusiasts for 55 years.
The pioneering car club has strong ties with Chateau Impney, having held its very first meeting at the hotel in 1961. That day just 30 enthusiasts attended the inaugural meeting but little did they know, over a half a century later, membership would stand at over 13,000.
In the early days of the club, members were all owners of the Porsche 356, the only road production model in existence. But with the launch of the 911, membership climbed steadily and today the club organises events and activities all year round throughout the UK. Whether members enjoy driving, maintaining, polishing, competing, watching or just talking Porsche, it offers something for everyone.
While we haven’t seen a Porsche competing at the Hill Climb as yet, the fact that a remarkable 70% of the Porsches ever produced are still on the road hopefully means it wont be long until we see a few Porsche Club GB members bringing their cars to take on the Hill Climb course – bringing the Chateau’s relationship with the club full circle.
