What role does Footman James play in the classic motoring scene?
Footman James enjoys a unique position within the classic motoring scene. We are proud of our heritage, based on successful relationships with enthusiasts and clubs. From humble beginnings, we now have a customer base of over 70,000 policyholders, assisted by our great staff who are often classic vehicle owners themselves.
We recognise just how much time and investment is needed in restoring, maintaining and enjoying your pride and joy. That’s why we offer products and policies that truly understand the requirements of cherished classic vehicles and motorcycles. Covering a wide range of models with tailored cover and individual service, we pride ourselves on understanding the distinctive needs of our customers.
Why did Footman James decide to become a sponsor of the Chateau Impney Hill Climb event?
The Chateau Impney Hill Climb has really captured our imagination! The vision of the organisers to resurrect such an historic event on the motorsport calendar was something that we immediately wanted to get involved in. Events such as this bring enthusiasts and partners of motorsport and classic cars together, so we wanted to be part of that – after all, supporting the classic vehicle movement is something we do with a passion.
Why is it good to have an event like the Chateau Impney Hill Climb back on the calendar?
The reinstatement of the Chateau as a venue for historic motorsport is a fantastic addition to the Midlands motorsport scene. There are a number of other local hill climbs, but the Chateau’s course is unique in that it includes some very tight bends as well as fast sections. This will make for a thrilling experience for both spectators and drivers.
What are your first impressions of the course and venue?
Simply stunning, what a setting! Arguably, the Chateau Impney Hill Climb will be one of the most picturesque events on the calendar. The revisions to the course will add a new dimension to the excitement, and the development from a sprint to a hill climb has added a great new chapter to the Chateau Impney story.
What is Footman James most looking forward to about the Hill Climb in July?
We can’t wait to witness these fantastic cars being driven as they were intended – in a beautiful setting, steeped in motorsport heritage. We’re also looking forward to seeing existing customers, partners and friends of Footman James at the event, as well as meeting new customers.
