Competition Day is Going Well for Courselayers John and Nikki Cottrill

Sunday 12 July 2015

John and Nikki Cotterill know the course better than anyone else - their company, Cottrill Civil Engineering, laid the tarmac!

Both John and Nikki are competing in the Pre-1967 Racing Cars over 1500cc class in Lotus 51As. John said “I prefer dryer conditions, to be honest! The surface of the course is good in the wet, but it’s brilliant in the dry, and I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out.”

“Even though it’s been a bit wet this morning, it’s not put off us drivers, or the spectators from the looks of things – there’s a lot of people here today! It’s been a great event so far at a fantastic venue and I hope it will continue for years to come,” John concluded.

Nikki said “I went very slowly this morning! I didn’t think it was a good idea to go too fast with the wet course. Plus, I’m driving John’s car so I didn’t want to break it! I hope it’ll dry out this afternoon so I can give it a proper run then.”
