Traditionally, a Concours d’Elegance exists to showcase the most beautiful, impressive cars to an exclusive audience. However, at the Chateau Impney Hill Climb, all of our spectators will be able to get up close and personal with some of the most amazing cars produced in this country and beyond. That’s why we’re very pleased to welcome the Jaguar XJ220 as our first entry.

With a top speed of 213mph, the Jaguar XJ220 supercar held the prestigious accolade of being the fastest production car in the world before being toppled by the McLaren F1 in 1993. It was produced in collaboration with Tom Walkinshaw Racing, and holds a powerful 3.5 litre twin turbocharged engine under the hood, allowing it to reach 60mph in just 3.6 seconds.
Only 280 cars were produced at the Bloxham factory, and this particular car was number 13 in the run. Elton John also purchased one of the XJ220s – number 57, to be exact – at its original price of £420,000.
We’re really looking forward to including the Jaguar XJ220 in our Concours – a perfect example of skilled British engineering. Would this get your vote at the Hill Climb? Tell us what you think by liking our Facebook page and following us on Twitter.
