Jack, driving his Lotus 20/22 in Racing Cars up to 1500cc pre-1967, said: “On the first run, I took it steady, having a look at the course and trying got not make any silly mistakes. On the second run I made more of an effort and it went well.
“This morning the track was drying, so I was careful as I didn’t want to throw it off. There was actually more grip than I expected, so I was able to push a bit harder. I’m confident for later, as long as it stays dry I hope to make the top three."
Local boy Jack, from Bromsgrove, has been driving circuits in the car since 2013 and is very happy to support the hill climb.
He said: “It’s good to support this local event and I hope to come back in future."
