“I would like to thank the Spollon family and everyone involved in putting on such a fantastic weekend of motorsport at the Chateau. The highlight for me was beating the ERAs and maintaining the car’s pre-war record.”
Ian Baxter entered his Alta 61 IS into the Pre-1940 Racing Cars over 1500cc and up to 3000cc Class, and claimed his first class victory with a time of 43.71! Last year’s class winner, Nick Topliss, returned to defend his title in the ERA R4D, but was unable to improve on his time from last year!
“When George Abecassis had the car, it would regularly beat all the competition, so I am proud and somewhat relieved to maintain the car’s position as a prominent front runner in historic motorsport.”
The Chateau Impney Hill Climb 2018 will be held on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July.
