The 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Sport (RUL 5R) is a rare example of the increasingly collectible Carrera 3.0 as just 3,691 of the cars left the Zuffenhausen factory between 1976 and 1977.
The car offered for sale in the H&H Auction is a right hand drive UK car (RHD UK) with manual transmission combined with the desirable Sport package including front and rear spoilers, together with Fuchs alloys and a sunroof.
It was supplied new by Withers of Winchester and first registered on 12 April 1977. The car spent a brief time in Australia in the late 1980s, before being returned to the UK and placed in storage. Following its acquisition by the current owner, the car has been the subject of a recent bare metal repaint in metallic red where no signs of accident damage or repairs were found.
RUL 5R has been sparingly used by a previous long-term owner with a genuine 77,673 miles on its odometer at the time of cataloguing. The car is offered with the V5 document, handbook and assorted invoices and is expected to include a fresh MOT certificate by the time of sale.
