As over 200 pre-1967 cars compete to complete our challenging course in the fastest time, away from the track this year’s Hill Climb is also set to wow families and create a day to remember.
The Nicol & Co Family Fun Zone is set to return with a range of traditional British rides where the brave can enjoy the dizzying heights of the Helter Skelter, whilst those who prefer a more sedate pace can ride on the oldest travelling Ferris Wheel in the UK and catch a bird’s eye view of the whole site.
Airplanes and Aero Engines
Each day the Chateau Impney Hill Climb will take to the skies again as we welcome the world-famous Lancaster Bomber on its fly past. The PA474 is one of the only two Lancaster Bombers remaining in an airworthy condition of the 7,377 that were originally built. The sight of this World War Two hero flying high above the Chateau is sure to be something to behold.
Back on the ground, we are delighted to have an original Napier Lion, one of the most powerful aero engines of its day, roaring into action and demonstrating why it inspired racing designs for aircraft, cars and boats.
Wall of Death
Also, present throughout the weekend is the world-famous Demon Drome who will be displaying their skills. Home to death-defying tricks and stunts performed on a vertical raceway! These daredevil riders perform the craziest of feats, inches from your very eyes as they bring you vintage thrills, chills and spills on the oldest surviving wall of death.
The Worcester Model Boat Club will be setting their sails, as over 80 boats including a Whitby Trent lifeboat, Edwardian steamboats, speedboats, yachts and even a replica of the Orca 2 closely followed by Jaws tack along the river, you will also have the chance to sail a yacht down the Chateau Impney river at this year’s event.
Severn Valley Railway
The Severn Valley Railway will be displaying The Lady Armaghdale locomotive at this year’s Hill Climb. This beautiful 19thCentury steam engine has appeared in several TV and film productions and was even modified in the 90’s to be ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’.
Land Rover Experience Eastnor
Ignite your spirit of adventure with the specially designed dynamic display equipment which will put a Land Rover to the test in ways you never thought possible. Plus this year your ‘Future Drivers’ get to show off their talents from behind the wheel – possibly for their first time. Giving young motorsport enthusiasts the chance to tackle a specially devised course, all under the watchful eye of Land Rover Experience Experts.
