We are delighted to be welcoming the Bugatti T51 back to the Chateau Impney Hill Climb for 2018!
Edmund Burgess has competed in the Hill Climb for several years previously, and this year will be attempting to beat his personal best. Edmund is the current holder of the 4 Cylinder records of the Long and Short course of the Prescott Hill Climb.
While Edmund has only been competing in this car for two years, he is also the proud owner of a T13 Brescia and regularly competes at events for the Vintage Sports Car Club.
Edmund’s T51 was built in 1932, but generally the model was a disappointment to Bugatti. The T51 itself has enjoyed success with previous owner Charles Dean, so let’s hope the car works its magic with Edmund for the 2018 Hill Climb!
When describing the event, Edmund commented that it was ‘so relaxed and old fashioned, with a nice VSCC feel about it with lots of colleagues competing alongside.’ Looking forward to 2018, he stated that ‘from 2017, I enjoyed the party on the Saturday night and I’m keen to improve on last years’ time and hopefully running on methanol for the first time at Chateau Impney, will help to improve this.’
