Dr David Pryke won the Pre-1940 Special Sports Cars and All Supercharged Sports Cars up to 1500cc class in his Morgan/Riley Special with a time of 48.32 seconds.
After a few uncertain runs, David had one shot at getting at right. He said: “It was a bit of a voyage into unknown as I didn’t know the hill at all. Saturday was difficult as I overshot the first corner both times.
“On Sunday morning, the track was slippery. I got one chance to really go at it when the hill was dry on Sunday afternoon and felt I’d done a decent run. It’s a very competitive class. Dudley Sterry, who finished just behind me, was my closest rival and Jeremy Brewster also put in a good run.”
David thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and hopes to be back next year.
He said: “I’m thrilled that we’ve got this event on our doorstep. I do a lot of hill climbs and thought Chateau Impney was as good as any. The organisation was fantastic. I’ve spoken to lots of drivers and everyone seemed really happy come the end of the weekend.”
