We’re thrilled to welcome Damon Hill, one of the most recognisable names in British motorsport, to Chateau Impney on Friday 3 June.
Damon has had an illustrious career spanning over 20 years. At age 23, he began competing on motorbikes, before moving into single-seater races and the International Formula 3000 Championships. He then became a test driver for Williams, and in 1993, was thrust into the spotlight as part of the Williams F1 team.
Throughout his career, he took 22 major victories, including the Formula One World Championship in 1996, and his rivalry with Michael Schumacher provided explosive scenes on and off the track. Following his retirement from F1 in 1999, Damon has continued to work tirelessly within motorsport and is now part of the Sky Sports F1 team.
When he visits the Chateau in June, Damon will share some of his favourite stories from throughout his career, including his F1 years, and will be available to answer questions during a Q&A session. The event will include a three-course dinner, and there will be a limited number of places for Damon’s table, where you will be able to chat with him during the meal.
We will also be displaying the BRM P48 that was raced by Graham Hill, Damon’s father, in the 1961 Intercontinental Series. Only four of the seven P48 cars manufactured by the Owen Racing Organisation between 1959 and 1960 have survived, and we are thrilled to be able to present such an important piece of British motorsport history.
Tickets for the event are priced at £75 per person. Your ticket includes a three-course dinner with a welcome drinks reception, a talk from Damon and a Q&A session.
