The Footman James Concours D’Elegance is a staple of the Chateau Impney Hill Climb, with a wonderful array of vehicles drawing the crowds throughout the weekend.
The theme this year is ‘Through the Ages’ with classes spanning the entirety of motoring history: pre-1925, 1926-1950, 1951-1976 and 1976-present day.
So far, we have announced the cars representing the Pre-1925 class and now we have the pleasure of revealing the cars in the next class, 1926-1950.
1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750
This Alfa Romeo 6C has been entered in to the concours by a Private Client of Footman James. The owner has possessed the vehicle for 45 years and a complete restoration was recently finished last year. Not just a stunning vehicle to look at, this car is hoping to be competing at various competitions later this year.
1927 Alvis Speed Drop Head Coupe
Just 390 Speed 25 chassis were built between 1936-1938, with 62 being fitted with the Charlesworth DHC you see on this model. This particular car was sold to Mr Younger of Younger Breweries in 1937. Four other owners enjoyed the car before it was brought to Fisher Restorations (who have entered this car into the concours) for a complete restoration in 2011. Since then, it has gone on to win the Concours d’Elegance at the Alvis International Weekend.
