Ivan, who recorded a time of 52.34 seconds in the TVR Grantura in the Pre-1968 Sports and Sports Racing Cars up to 1500cc class, said: “It was terrific to win the class, I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t think I stood a chance.
“The main driver I was up against was 20 seconds quicker on every run, but on the last run I finally got it together. I was very proud to get up on the Chateau steps and receive my prize.”
The weekend was the perfect return to racing for Ivan.
He said: “I was ill for quite a long time and haven’t been racing and mixing with people as much. It was good to see people I haven’t seen for years. The whole weekend was outstanding. It was the best weekend I’ve had for a long, long time.”
