Our hugely popular Concours d’Elegance returned once again sponsored by Footman James and with a Best of British theme. We were joined by some truly iconic models, and the winners were no different. Congratulations goes to the Aston Martin DBS Coupe, and a DB 2/4 MK 1.
The DB 2/4 is a model from 1955, and it was modelled on the DB2. The most obvious changes are a wraparound windscreen, repositioned headlights and larger bumpers. When this model was tested in 1954 by The Motor magazine, the car had a top speed of 118.5mph.
The DB 2/4 is well-known for appearing in the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock film, The Birds.
The other model representing Aston Martin was the DBS Coupe. This particular model was produced in 2008, and is the same specification as the DBS used in the 2006 James Bond film, Casino Royale, even down to the colour.
Aston Martin reports that the DBS can reach speeds of 183mph and can achieve 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds.
We were thrilled that these two stars of the big screen joined us for the event and they are very deserving winners in the face of some tough competition. Did you vote for the Aston Martin?
