Morgan is the second marque to be joining the Footman James Concours d’Elegance as Best of British.
Over the weekend, visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourite cars, and these two are likely to be strong contenders. We will have a 1930 Morgan Family 4-seater open top, and the brand-new Morgan Aero GT, one of only 8 produced.
The Morgan Family was built in 1930 and is now still worth approximately £20,000. This particular vehicle is in traditional racing green, and can achieve 55mph. It is still a formidable opponent when competing, and in the last 18 months alone has win its class in the 2017 VSCC Measham Rally and competed in many sprints and hill climbs as well.
The Morgan Aero GT is one of eight limited edition GT’s built to celebrate the end of Aero 8 production. This vehicle was specially commissioned for Steve Morris, Managing Director of Morgan, and in the Morgan spirit he drives his every day. In contrast to the Morgan Family, it can reach speeds of 170mph.
The Morgan Motor Company still produce each of their cars by hand, and the uniqueness of the cars shines through in both of these models.
