For 2018, we are thrilled that the Footman James Concours d’Elegance will be celebrating the Best of British cars, and the next marque we have to announce is Bentley.
The name Bentley Motors Limited is immediately synonymous with the production of extremely luxurious cars, such as the Bentley Mulsanne. However, Bentley also have manufactured very successful racing cars, including the innovative Bentley Speed Six built in 1928. Also a James Bond favourite, the Bentley Mark IV was bought by the Ian Fleming character at the end of Moonraker in 1979. This car was Bentley’s first post-war luxury car and was produced between 1946 to 1952. It featured an all steel body, suicide doors, and just from looking at it, it is immediately obvious why the British spy chose this iconic British car.
To kick off this iconic marque we have the Bentley 3/4 ½. This is an amalgamation of the best of both worlds, placing the larger engine from the 4 ½ litre into the small chassis of the 3 litre; combining the agility and handling of a 3 Litre, with the power and performance of the 4.5 Litre engine.
The more modern of the two Bentley at the Concours is the 2018 Continental GT. With over 620 BHP and a completely new 6 litre, twin turbocharged W12 engine, the new Continental GT is unmatched in its class. This car has been provided by XL Limited.
