Footman James announce the 1951-75 class in the Concours d'Elegance

Monday 17 June 2019

With less than 4 weeks to go to the Hill Climb, we’re excited to announce the next pair of cars to feature in the Footman James Concours d’Elegance.

The theme of the concours this year is ‘Through The Ages’, with each class representing a period of motoring history. Classes and cars announced so far include:
  • Pre-1925: 1911 Talbot Roi-Des-Belges Tourer and 1919 Model T Petrol Tanker
  • 1926 – 1950: 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 and 1927 Alvis Speed Drop Head Coupe

We are now pleased to reveal the pair of cars that will be representing the 1951-75 class in the concours.

1962 Bentley S2 Continental Flying Spur

Entered into the concours by Fisher Restorations, this stunning Bentley S2 Continental from the ‘Idris Francis Collection’ is finished in Cardinal Red with a tan hide interior. The car, by H. J. Mulliner, has covered just 94,000 miles from new and has an excellent history file which includes invoices from a variety of specialist Bentley garages. The car has also been used to transport some very famous faces, including Lord Mountbatten and even Jason Statham in the 2008 film ‘The Bank Job’.
This beautiful Bentley was subject to a full restoration some years ago which today clearly shows in its fantastic condition.

1967 Aston Martin DB6

This 1967 Aston Martin DB6 has been entered into the concours by a customer of Classic & Sports Finance. Purchased in May 2018, the car has undergone an extensive renovation including an engine and gearbox rebuild plus a respray of the car from its original red colour to silver.
This stunning example has only travelled 34,000 miles since new and retains its original tan leather interior. The car features a 4 litre straight six engine providing 3995 cc, 282 bhp at 5500 rpm and 280 lbs-ft at 4500 rpm.

Special Guest Judge

We’re also pleased to reveal a very special guest judge for the Footman James Concours d’Elegance – Alex Riley! A real petrolhead, Alex is the co-star of ITV4’s The Car Years (sponsored by Footman James), regular contributor for Classic Car Weekly and former Top Gear researcher.
Alongside the judges’ decision, there will also be a people’s champion of the concours. Keep an eye on Footman James’ social media accounts two weeks before the event to view the complete list of cars and to vote for your winner!
