Demonstrations

We’re excited to present a number of thrilling demonstration runs throughout the Hill Climb weekend, welcoming some of the most impressive cars and motorcycles to parade up the Hill Climb course.

You’ll be able to watch our demonstration runs during the lunchtime break on both days of the event – listen out for the announcements on the day for the most up-to-date information!

Nissan R35 Nismo FIA GT1

Built by Nismo, Nissan’s in-house motorsport division, the Nissan GT1 was one of just four cars developed by the company to compete in 2009’s FIA GT1 World Championship. In 2011, Michael Krumm drove this GT1 to victory and became the FIA GTR World Champion.

BMW 2002 Rallye

An ex-works competition car, this BMW 2002 Rallye was built by BMW Motorsport in 1974 for its small but successful rallying division that was active during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was sold to Achim Warmbold when the rally programme closed, who earned first place in the 1975 Sachs Winter Rally and Donegal International Rally with the car.

McLaren F1 GTR

The McLaren F1 GTR can reach speeds of over 200mph! This road-legal beast, which was first developed as a prototype for the 1996 season, is owned by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and is also one of the stars of our Concours, where you’ll be able to see it up close throughout the weekend.

Cavalcade

The following cars and motorbikes will drive up the course together as part of our cavalcade.

Packard-Bentley ‘Mavis’

Once described as “the biggest waste of time, money and effort in automotive history”, Mavis was built by Chris Williams, who competed at last year’s event in the Napier-Bentley. It is powered by an enormous 42-litre Packard 4M-2500 V12 boat engine and can shift a gallon of petrol in just 15 seconds!

Aston Martin DB3R

Once part of the Aston Martin works team, this Aston Martin DB3R was also previously owned by famed racing driver Reg Parnell, who drove it to second place in New Zealand’s Tazman Series.

Jappic Cyclecar Recreation

The original Jappic cyclecar was built by Jarvis of Wimbledon in 1925, and achieved a number of speed records in the 350cc and 500cc classes. It was destroyed in a workshop fire in 1932, but Adrian Ward has been working on an accurate recreation for the last four years and will be showcasing it at the Hill Climb.

Ducati Desmosedeci GP3

Following a long absence from Grand Prix racing, the Ducati Desmosedici marked Ducati’s return to the top of the table – a brand-new four-stroke motorcycle that was worthy of taking on the challenging new MotoGP championship.

This GP3 was ridden by Troy Bayliss throughout the 2003 MotoGP, where he earned 6th place in the championship with two podium finishes.

Brooklands Bikes

We’re proud to welcome some truly significant motorbikes to the Chateau Impney Hill Climb this year. Usually found on display at the Brooklands Museum, each bike in the collection has been rebuilt into full working order by the fantastic Brooklands Volunteers.
